    How to Recycle?

    Recycling Starts With You! At home, at the office, at school, at the gym, or wherever you are!

    Making a difference is easier than you think. It all starts with a simple step: separating your waste and setting aside recyclable materials instead of throwing everything into the trash.

    Across Curaçao, you can find recycling collection points in different locations, including both large and smaller collection centers, making it easier to recycle wherever you are.

    What can you recycle at this Collection Center?

    Together, we can keep Curaçao clean while ensuring that valuable materials can be reused.

    This recycling collection center has five different openings. Check the material and color of your packaging and choose the correct opening.

    Explanation of each opening, from left to right

    🟣 HDPE & PLASTIC CAPS

    For HDPE packaging (♻️ 2) and all loose plastic caps.

    For example: laundry detergent bottles, cleaning product bottles, and all other plastic caps.

    Please note: remove any hand pumps from the bottles and dispose of them in a regular trash bin.

     

    ⚪ ALUMINUM CANS

    For aluminum beverage cans.

    For example: Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Monster, and other aluminum beverage cans.

    Please note: no food cans or other steel cans. Dispose of these in a regular trash bin.

     

    🟢 CLEAR PET – NON-FOOD GRADE

    For clear PET bottles that are not beverage

    For example: bottles used for cleaning and household products.

    Please   note:remove any hand pumps from the bottles and dispose of them in a regular trash bin.

     

    🔵 LIGHT BLUE PET

    For light blue PET bottles (♻️ 1).

    For example: light blue water bottles.

     

    🔷 CLEAR PET

    For colorless, clear PET beverage bottles (♻️ 1).

    For example: clear Coca-Cola, Sprite, Dasani water and other beverage bottles.

     

    Good to know ♻️

    Make sure bottles and cans are empty and clean, before placing them in the collection center. Remove the cap from the bottle and place it in the HDPE & Plastic Caps opening.

    Do not put these items in the Recycling Collection Center: glass, steel/food cans, hand and soap pumps, and dark-colored PET bottles.

    Do not leave waste or other materials next to the Recycling Collection Center. Anything left outside the center cannot be recycled through this system and will therefore end up in the landfill.

    Check your packaging and the recycling symbol and compare them with the examples displayed above the openings of the Recycling Collection Center.

    Marcar la diferencia es más fácil de lo que piensas. Todo comienza con un paso sencillo: separar tus residuos y apartar los materiales reciclables en lugar de tirarlo todo a la basura.

    En diferentes lugares de Curazao encontrarás puntos de recolección de materiales reciclables, tanto grandes como pequeños, para que reciclar sea más fácil estés donde estés.

    ¿Qué puedes reciclar en este Centro de Recolección para Reciclaje?

    Juntos podemos mantener Curaçao más limpio y ayudar a que materiales valiosos puedan ser reutilizados.

    Este centro de recolección para reciclaje tiene cinco aberturas diferentes. Fíjate en el material y el color del envase y elige la abertura correcta.

     

    Primero, verifica ♻️

    Explicación de cada abertura, de izquierda a derecha:

    🟣 HDPE Y TAPAS DE PLÁSTICO

    Para envases de HDPE (♻️ 2) y todas las tapas de plástico.

    Por ejemplo: botellas de detergente, botellas de productos de limpieza y todas las tapas de plástico.

    Importante: retira las bombas manuales de las botellas y deséchalas en un basurero común.

     

    ⚪ LATAS DE ALUMINIO

    Para latas de bebidas de aluminio.

    Por ejemplo: Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Monster y otras latas de bebidas de aluminio.

    Importante: no deposites latas de conserva ni otras latas de acero. Deséchalas en un basurero común.

     

    🟢 PET TRANSPARENTE – NO APTO PARA ALIMENTOS

    Para botellas transparentes de PET que no sean envases de bebidas.

    Por ejemplo: botellas de productos de limpieza y productos para el hogar.

    Importante: retira las bombas manuales de las botellas y deséchalas en un basurero común.

     

    🔵 PET AZUL CLARO

    Para botellas de PET azul claro (♻️ 1).

    Por ejemplo: botellas de agua de color azul claro.

     

     

    🔷 PET TRANSPARENTE

    Para botellas transparentes e incoloras de PET para bebidas (♻️ 1).

    Por ejemplo: botellas transparentes de Coca-Cola, Sprite, agua Dasani y otras bebidas.

     

    Información importante ♻️

    Vacía y limpia las botellas y latas antes de depositarlas en el centro de recolección. Retira la tapa de la botella y deposítala en la abertura de HDPE y Tapas de Plástico.

    No deposites en el centro de recolección para reciclaje: vidrio, latas de acero o de conserva,  bombas manuales o dispensadoras de jabón y botellas de PET de colores oscuros.

    No dejes basura ni otros materiales al lado del centro de recolección para reciclaje. Todo lo que se deje fuera del centro no podrá reciclarse a través de este sistema y, por lo tanto, terminará en el vertedero.

    Revisa tu envase y el símbolo de reciclaje y compáralos con los ejemplos que aparecen sobre las aberturas del centro de recolección para reciclaje.

    Hoe kun je recyclen?

    Recyclen begint bij jou! Thuis, op kantoor, op school, in de sportschool of waar je ook bent!

    Een verschil maken is makkelijker dan je denkt. Het begint allemaal met een eenvoudige stap: je afval scheiden en recyclebare materialen apart houden in plaats van alles bij het restafval te gooien.

    Verspreid over Curaçao vind je verschillende inzamelpunten voor recyclebare materialen, zowel grote als kleinere inzamellocaties. Zo wordt recyclen gemakkelijker, waar je ook bent.

    Wat kun je recyclen in dit Recycle Center?

    Samen houden we Curaçao schoner én zorgen we ervoor dat waardevolle materialen opnieuw gebruikt kunnen worden.

    Dit recycle center heeft vijf verschillende openingen. Kijk naar het materiaal en de kleur van je verpakking en kies de juiste opening.

    Uitleg per opening, van links naar rechts:

    🟣 HDPE & PLAST IC DOPPEN

    Voor HDPE-verpakkingen (♻️ 2) en alle losse plastic doppen.

    Bijvoorbeeld: wasmiddelflessen, schoonmaakflessen en alle andere plastic doppen.

    Let op: verwijder handpompjes en gooi deze in een normale prullenbak.

     

    ⚪ ALUMINIUM BLIKJES

    Voor aluminium drankblikjes.

    Bijvoorbeeld: Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Monster en alle andere aluminium drankblikjes.

    Let op: géén conservenblikken of andere stalen blikken. Gooi deze in een normale prullenbak.

     

    🟢 TRANSPARANTE PET – NON-FOOD GRADE

    Voor doorzichtige PET-flessen die geen drankverpakking zijn.

    Bijvoorbeeld: flessen van schoonmaak- en huishoudelijke producten.

    Let op: verwijder handpompjes en gooi deze in een normale prullenbak.

     

    🔵 LICHTBLAUWE PET

    Voor lichtblauwe PET-flessen (♻️ 1).

    Bijvoorbeeld: lichtblauwe waterflessen.

     

     

    🔷 TRANSPARANTE PET

    Voor kleurloze, transparante PET-drankflessen (♻️ 1).

    Bijvoorbeeld: transparante flessen van Coca-Cola, Sprite, Dasani water en andere dranken.

     

    Goed om te weten ♻️

    Maak flessen en blikjes leeg en schoon voordat je ze in het collectiecenter doet. Draai de dop van de fles en doe deze in de opening van“HDPE & Plastic Doppen”.

    Niet in het Recycle Center: glas, stalen/conservenblikken, hand- en zeeppompjes en donkergekleurde PET-flessen.

    Zet geen afval of andere materialen naast het Recycle Center. Alles wat buiten het center wordt achtergelaten, kan niet via dit systeem worden gerecycled en gaat daarom naar de landfill.

    Twijfel je? Controleer je verpakking en het recyclingsymbool en vergelijk deze met de voorbeelden boven de openingen van het collectiecenter.

     

    Samen maken we het verschil. Recycle bewust en draag bij aan een schoner Curaçao. ♻️
